OK, this is the final 2D bench for this season. With the cooler weather here it's prime benching time. I felt that the season just wouldn't be complete without a good SPi run. I thought it would even the playing field a bit since there's no advantage for the # of cores. This will also give some of our newer members a chance to hone their tweaking skills. SuperPi 32M can take days to dial in so to all good luck.

What: SuperPI-32M
Who: any forum member
Cpu: any CPU, MAX speed of 5.0 GHz +0.1% or 5005 MHZ
Cooling: any cooling type
When: Ends: December 31st, 12pm EST
Background: Use the Wallpaper provided
Download SuperPI-32M benchmark: HERE

I would also like this format used at the top of your post please UserName/CPU/Cooling/ Score

Thought this wallpaper would help with the festive spirit.

That's great ATM, what ya gettin?

You find a deal on another FX over the weekend?

Could be clock cap for this benchmark. Would be easier to work on some tweaks and compare results. Also guys on air/water could compete without problems with those on cold.

I'll think about it. We already have a Spi 4.0 bench challenge

yea, and all i have together is my zalman cooled apu........but, I have put it in my azza case

Have to agree..... Would make it better for the guys learning how to get their groove on with Super PI and having to tweak rather than do it with raw MHz would make it more of a challenge. Doesn't really matter to me so much though as long as it's fun to do.

The more I thought about it the more I agree with your suggestion. How does a 5.0GHz cap sound? Too high?

Nothing worse than an overclocking competition that frowns on overclocking :censored:

It's not frowning on overclocking, it's pushing you toward getting every ounce out of your setup in non-conventional ways.

Johan, I like the 5GHz cap. Should make for some nice tweaks :)

Last I looked you weren't running AMD Witchy.

But seriously I do think it'll bring more to the table and should really help improve some tweaking skills. All out speed is great but it doesn't help when the competitions CPU goes 100 MHz faster than yours. The only thing you can do then is work on any little advantage you can find. I know SPi32 has lots of tweaks and ram can make or break your run. Besides it's only a CPU cap, you can still juice up your ram if you want.
This has been mentioned many times in the past for the whole marathon but that I really don't agree with. Overclocking is the pursuit of MHz but benching is a bit more involved and I do believe this will help.
