I decided to test my HDD and SSD's using Parkdale 2.93, using a 1GB file size,I got the following results:

#1 SSD - 256GB Crucial,hosts games and downloads,has 126GB free.

#2 SSD - 128GB Samsung 840 Pro,hosts my OS and prog files, has 37.7GB free.

Now my 2TB WD HDD,has 1.36TB free.

Are these results expected? The SSD's can read twice as fast as my HDD but I'm wondering why my 840 Pro's write speed is a lot slower than the other SSD.

I have never heard of that benchmark. If you want to see how.your SSD is performing, run ATTO, or AS SSD, or Crystal Disk Mark. ;)

OK-new software downloaded and messing with my sata cables (putting them in the proper place)

Much better?

Right....I just ran Samsungs 'Magician' software, it came with some optimization stuff and then, this happened....

This surely cannot be right? 4GB/s read?

Same drive using ATTO

Yeah ATTO is best benchmark for drives.

GEtting 545 read and 500 write with this 840.

it's clear you have that caching or whatever Samsung calls it. That isn't real. ;)

Getting around similar to you,a little lower but still well happy with the performance, thanks all :)

I was messing with the Samsung software,I turned the feature off that gave the super high readings and have it now favouring capacity,as such, the free space of my SSD went from 60GB to 30GB, 25% freed up

Are you running ATTO at default bench? These speeds are obtained once it passes the 32 meg chart, small writes like 1 or 2 megs are much slower.

Thats because it was setup as a caching drive...

Now what does ATTO look like?

not only is it not real, but it eats up the ram usage.
i couldnt figure out why games would start getting laggy after 5-10 minutes of playing, and it turned out that my ram was getting maxxed out from that caching.
8gb is not enough ram to be using that, lol.

It's disabled now,I have 16GB of DDR3 Vengeance
