no hdmi sound via sound bar

I just put a few new parts in my HTPC including a MB. I have an LCD TV and a sound bar. As far as wiring goes, absolutely nothing changed. But Winderz 8.1 insists that I have no sound device plugged in. Yes, it is saying the un-enabled, not connected device is via HDMI. I uninstalled and reinstalled twice. Got all driver and BIOS updates, pissed off the dog but then, he was farting on my neck while I spent a couple of hours messing with this.

Any ideas?

The new MB/CPU combo didn't have adequate driver support for HDMI streaming of audio (so far as I looked). Dedicated my 660Ti to the task for audio/video; all's well that ends.
