I'm now reminded of why I don't like stock coolers, they're woefully inefficient wastes of Aluminum and Copper. This heat sink has nearly no mass whatsoever, it's only maybe 15mm tall (not counting the height of the fan). I'm hitting darn near 70°C just while installing Windows Updates. It idles anywhere between 29-40°C, and in the BIOS it shows the CPU to be hovering between 44-47°C.

I'd hate to think what PC's run with stock coolers 24/7 go through on a regular basis. Something to be said for running an aftermarket heat sink or AIO liquid cooler I guess, if temps are this bad with the stock heat sink. May increase lifespan of the CPU due to decrease in stress/strain from heat.
