Amen! I use both but all of the stationary PCs have a wire! I have gone to two networks. One for gaming rigs and security cams and the other for general web usage and streaming. I have had no issues since I made the change.
 
I use anything I can on Ethernet.
The only things on WiFi normally are my phone and tablet.

Wireless for me is phones, tablets and laptops. I do have to wire in a few TVs but I need to run the wires through the walls.
 
Not that I don't like wireless, I prefer it over WiFi as well. But in a home like that a single AP is just asking for dead spots to being with. At least 2 AP on opposite ends of the home would cover it entirely. Hell, I have 3 AP in my home just to make sure I have no dead spots.
