Hey, I'm about to install a ssd into a laptop, and there is a windows 7 sticker on the bottom, but the only bit I can still read is that it says windows 7 home premium. Rest of the sticker is worn off. Not really interested in making restore disks, just want to do a clean install, is there any way to find out the windows key from the current install from inside windows?

Awesome, just what I was looking for, thanks.
It seems that taking your laptop to school in your bag is a good way to wear out the sticker! I should just be able to use any windows 7 home premium disk right?

Yes, you can use any medium to install your windows as long it's the right version, in this case Home Premium. Doesn't matter where you downloaded it or where you got the DVD from.
