So what's AMD's strategy now? I've read Intel out-performs AMD in all categories (from budget to cost-is-no-object) and Nvidia isn't going away, but at least AMD is still competitive in that arena.
Do all AMD CPU's of a similar performance envelope to Intel run hotter?

Personally, I hope AMD gets off their a$$ and grabs the GPU performance crown from Nvidia -- especially after what Nvidia did to 3DFX.
