Hi All,

I'm posting on behalf of my friend who isn't very savvy when it comes to forums!

He decided around 6 months ago that he wanted to make something a little different to bring to the Multiplay iSeries event in the UK - from which I'm now posting from! Over this 6 month timeframe we've banged heads together to develop his idea of building a PC into... a Beer Barrel!

He has a French chap near where he lives in Bristol who specialises in making furniture from old barrels, so we approached him. He made up a cabinet using an old French beer barrel, which we have then modified further by installing a central partition right down the center, along with large holes top and bottom for ventilation. The rear half houses the water-cooling pump, reservoir, radiator, PSU and most of the wiring, keeping the front free for the GFX card and mobo, as seen below.

Specs-wise, it's running a MSI Krait Z97 mobo, i7-4790k CPU, GTX980 GTX card, and 16GB Avexir Core RAM in white. Watercooled by EKWB blocks; a Supremacy CPU block, and a custom fitted copper full GPU block (he bought two separate blocks and switched the covers over as the copper was only available in the smaller cover that didn't cover the entire card). Piping is a combo of 3/4" OD tubing, Rocketscience fittings, and 1/2" softdrawn copper pipe.

Now for pics..!

Any questions, feel free to ask! :)

That's an epic build right there. My only question would be what kind of ambient temps are you seeing? Airflow seems pretty minimal.

Airflow is better than what I thought it might be actually.. I was quite surprised! It's getting max 45C on the GPU, and up to 70C on the CPU. Obviously the CPU is hotter than I'd like but well within tolerances.
