Hey guys,

I am currently working on replacing a Core2Duo with an X99 system for Solidworks use.

The choice has been made to go with Xeon CPU so ECC is possible as an option, but would it be a worth while option to go with?

The machine mainly runs Solidworks, apart from that, its used for photo work (not very demanding)

Would it be a good idea to use ECC ram for such a system?

I would say you won't see any difference so if you are not going to overclock it then get the cheaper option.

Crucial 2133mhz CL15 has been ordered. Now i cant wait till it comes, and get to know all the exciting issues that will pop up during the change over from Core2duo to x99 xeon.
