GTAV crash - D3DERR_DEVICELOST

So I played this game just fine for the first month or so after launch. After that, it started crashing on me, and I haven't been able to play for more than 10 minutes at a time since then. I've searched the problem extensively, and have been unable to find resolution. Here is my launcher log file:

I have tried verifying my files, which all clear with Steam as well as with this 3rd party tool. I have tried unplugging/disabling all extra USB devices in my system. I have tried disabling all unnecessary services on my machine. Nothing is overclocked, and I even tried underclocking my GPU...I have played many other games on this machine without any problems, and as I mentioned, the game ran fine for the 1st month after release, I only clocked about 5 hours in that time, but it didn't crash even once. The only thing that I can think of which was changed was a patch for the game from Rockstar. I have also reinstalled DirectX.

I am at a loss...does anyone have any ideas?

change your gtavlauncher.exe and gtav.exe to match the screenshot and see if that helps.View attachment 164858

Thanks. The settings below are greyed out...never seen that before :-/

Disable visual themes
Disable desktop composition
Disable display scaling on high DPI settings

I configured both .exe's to run as administrator, but I don't have time to test right now. I'll report back when I get the chance.

Didn't help...still crashed after about 3 minutes of gameplay.

Figured it out!
All I had to do was uninstall the Intel Graphics driver for my i5-2500

edit - Nope...still crashed, just took longer (about 30 minutes) to get there

No, perfectly stable in every other game I play...tried CAT 15.4b & 15.5b...same result :-/

Any ideas why this is in the log?

There are several known issues with amd cards in this game, specifically for cfx... not sure if this is one, but, seems buggy on the AMD side.

I also like its efficency, I'm living off grid on solar power now, so the lower the power consumption the better :thup:

Oh man, you'll cut your GPU power usage in half with that!!
Didn't know you were all solar, that'll make a big difference dropping ~150W off the card
