I have the Q9300 running at the default 2.50 Ghz, and i'm looking into overclocking it to at or around 3.0 Ghz.I am new to overclocking, and have no idea what i'm doing.

My mother board is the P5K3 deluxe.
I have 4gb of DDR3 ram
I have the GTX 650 video card

Can anyone help me with it?

Until you get better cooling I would hold off on the overclocking.

If Windows reports a bus/interconnect error, you must raise the FSB termination voltage.
This issue appears to be common with Core 2 Quads.
