heatsink question

I am replacing a motherboard on my laptop. The copper heatsink covers both the cpu and the gpu. The cpu area has thermal paste and the gnu part uses a very thin thermal strip. Should i continue using the strip or take it off and use some arctic silver instead. I remember way back when i used to do this with the old intel hsf...

The strip is ued because the gap is too large for paste. Use the strip, get a replacement. You can buy different thicknesses at better TC online.
