What is capping my SSD speed?

I would guess that you are limited to sata II speeds and not sata III speeds. if that is the case you just have to live with what you have. there really isnt much in the way of seat of the pants perfromance feel going from sata 2 to sata 3
 
It's enabled in the bio and windows needs a driver. You can't have it enabled in the bios and no driver... = no boot.

It's the sata interface,.. I believe it's sata2.
 
From what I can tell, the M880G chipset with the 4250 graphics card is paired with the SB820 southbridge, which does have SATA 3 (6gbit). If the laptop has the SB810, it does not have SATA 3. There should be a lot of programs to tell you what hardware you are running.

If it is connected at SATA 3 speeds, the device is being limited by a device up the chain.
 
CPUz on the Motherboard tab should tell what Southbridge you have.
 
I'll be surprised if you can get faster.
That chipset just doesn't have great throughput for SSDs.
 
You said the first is a fresh install, right?
How much software is accessing it during the second picture?
