I have been playing MWO and my FPS on min is not so good 18-25fps,
so I would like to upgrade my CPU/GPU (APU) from a A8-4500M to a A10-5750M

my laptop is a hp g7-2243us with 8gb Ram

I noticed that they are the same Thermal Design Power (TDP) at 35w so I am thinking heat should not be a issue, but if it does I am willing to modify or buy a cooler pad.

I would love the extra clock and 128 shaders (256vs384) and the price of $60 is worth it (I could also sell the old CPU). but I am afaied that it will not work and all I can find with my googlefu is a post at Toms.
any ideas? anyone else upgrade their HP laptop to a newer CPU?

What APU's were offered in that model of laptop?
Are you sure it isn't soldered?

looking at the service Manual it is removable
APU that came with the model series

AMD A10-4600M processor (3.2 GHz/2.3 GHz, 1600 MHz/4.0 MB L2 cache, DDR3, quad core,
35W)
683046-001
AMD A8-4500M processor (2.8 GHz/1.9 GHz, 1600 MHz/4.0 MB L2 cache, DDR3, quad core,
35W)
683048-001
AMD A6-4400M processor (3.2 GHz/2.7 GHz, 1600 MHz/1.0 MB L2 cache, DDR3, dual core,
35W)
683047-001
AMD A4-4300M processor (3.0 GHz/2.5 GHz, 1600 MHz/1.0 MB L2 cache, DDR3, dual core,
35W)
685990-001

I wouldn't go past the A10-4600M then.
Chances are the 5xxx series isn't coded in.

I was reading online at the F.26 Bios (latest for laptop (early 2015)) can support the A10-5750M unofficially.
I may give it a shot and if it does not work return It and get the A10-4600M.

If you've found sources online saying it will work then I would go for it.

so I chickened/cheaped out and got a A10-4600M I found one for $30 over the $60 the A10-5750M and the A10-5750M is not much better so not worth the risk or the price difference
