BSoD.

Happened while browsing the internet.
Did not get a chance to copy down the error code.

I can go in the BIOS, where it recognizes all the hardware.

However, after that it won´t display GRUB, so I can't even go into Windows.

Running Windows 8.1 and Linux. Each are on a different Crucial MX100 SSD. Grub is on the windows disk.

I´m pretty sure that I had Win Update off.

It could be anything, ¿right?

Can you share the info, it may help someone else in the future. :)
 
We like to keep threads around, even if you don't know what fixed the issue. This way, if the problem starts happening again, or someone else has the same issue, discussion can take off here instead of starting completely over.

Weiiiiirdd. In the system log there is nothing after 15:47:29 on 21/09/2015 even though i´m pretty sure it crashed around seven pm....

I know mine did so due to not enough voltage going to the CPU. Crashed in the middle of a bench.

And your system seems to have similar errors showing up in your logs to mine. like Service Control Manager code 7000 *i've never figured that one out*
 
You seem to have NTFS events in that log...
Ran a chkdsk /f lately?

That might aid in preventing the BSOD from occurring in the future.
If that event shows the filesystem is corrupt but chkdsk comes back clean, there are hotfixes on Microsoft's website to help fix that.

I think that is from me doing a hard shutdown the next morning when I was going into the BIOS and stuff. Will try what you guys suggested when I get home.

Still, is it not weird that there are no logs after 15:00 when the PC crashed at around 17:00?

Kinda. I've had gaps of no events before. Not very often though.

What is "TrustedInstaller"? Sketchy...
 
TrustedInstaller is a built in service to Windows and is legitimate. It seems the system is trying to do updates? Looks OK to me.
 
It just sounds so untrustworthy. I hate all this update stuff with all the windows 10 telemetry seeping into windows 8. Ill post back if BSoD persists...
 
Yes, as Thideras said, TrustedInstaller, while sketchy sounding, is legit. Used for Windows updates too.

Did you run chkdsk /f too?
