GPU servers appear down for me for a few days

Hello fellow folders!

I've encountered the following problem: there are no new WU downloads for 7970 GPU, it says "Could not get IP address for assign-GPU.stanford.edu: This is usually a temporary error during hostname resolution and means that the local server did not receive a response from an authoritative server."

That last for a few days now.

What I've tried doing: - Waiting for the servers to come back online.
- Changing the flags in GPU folding slot (client-type advanced, beta, no flag)
- Deleting the contents of Work folder
- Removing and readding the GPU folding slot
- Checking and re-opening the default port for folding client
- Restarting the PC, restarting the router

Still, the problem continues as it were before. Any ideas what's wrong?

upd: adding a cpu slot gives the same error for cpu slot.
the internet connection is fine for all the applications.
 
I do not see any connection issues on any of my hosts past 24 hours. All are linux client v7.44, Ubuntu 14.04 with Kepler and Maxwell cards.

Perhaps try rebooting the modem+router+computer.

edit: missed that you had already tried rebooting. Try uninstalling/re-installing the folding client.

I'm all good here too. No issues....

Call the ISP and ask. The problem might magically disappear. :)
 
Thanks' everyone, that was a DNS issue, looks like its fixed after changing DNS settings.
