Ok.
So, I'll have this issue off and on, where the Windows Installer service will either not start correctly, or start multiple instances of itself.
If I go to services.msc, all options are greyed out, cannot change from manual to automatic. Cannot stop/restart the service.
The strange thing is, this occurrence doesn't seem to have rhyme nor reason as to when it happens.
I'll be doing a run of SFC /scannow while waiting for any helpful replies, or possibly a reply with the obvious "why didn't I think of that" scenario
