In keeping with last months theme , I wanted to do something different again and as Woomack mentioned to me, this one is likely to be added to the list for points in the near future. I assume it will be as well since it is an HWBot developed benchmark. As before I'll start a separate thread in the lounge where we can discuss the bench and maybe come up with some tweaks. This one is all about encoding video and is likely quiy=te hard on a CPU, luckily the cooler weather is moving in so open the windows and let them fly.

What: HWBOT x265 Benchmark
Who: any forum member
Cpu: any CPU, no speed cap
Cooling: any cooling type
When: Ends: October 30th, 12 Midnight EST
Background: Use supplied background
Download :HWBOT x265 Benchmark: Here
Full Competition Rules: here
I would also like this format used at the top of your post please UserName/CPU/Cooling/ Score

Nice dejo, right out of the gate. You certainly are quick or bored ha ha.

Just to be clear, there are no rules at the bot for this bench yet. As you know I'm not picky on the OS used. As Dejo did you may as well include the GPUz shot, not sure if it's necessary but if you're subbing to HWBot better safe than sorry, no? When they activate points for this bench you don't want to be flagged for lack of validation.

ok this is a new one that I never tried this should be fun lol
oh btw new toys were delivered just now

need to get on the bench station and see if 4790k is any better than 4770k. would guess that a bench like this- instruction sets could make a difference

also when I installed the bench it forced me to do the bcdedit for platform clock. so I would guess that win8+ will be legal at the bot as it does show the clock speed in the bench

Give it a whirl, but I believe they both have the same instruction sets. The difference was in the stock clocks and the PCB the die sat on (as well as the TIM) last I recall.

Same here on Win 10

No you mis-understand NZK. I believe they're saying Win 8 will likely be allow at the bot because of the forced bcdedit. Unless I'm the one who's mis-understanding.

Oh, also subbed. I'll try and get a run or two of this one if I can find the time to piece my rigs back together.

Im just going by how many things are not allowed presently lol.
But Im all for testing my system regardless of if I get points or not. :p. Im way past the phase of needing gold stars on my papers lol. well, I do still like gold stars tho.

Anyway:
Run 1:
NZKshatriya / FX-6100 @ 4600 / Air / 10.23

Gonna try and push it, tho for some reason, I can get BIOS to show I am running at theoretical 4700+, but CPU-z will show only ~4680, everything will be stable, cept for the benchmark, which will cease to exist in task manager, but still be running on desktop, just frozen.

There are actually quite a few benches that are allowed as well you just have to check. Pretty much anything from Futuremark is good with update sys info. I think GPUPI is fine as well

EDIT: you realize you have 3 CPU tabs open? No biggie just saying

Yup, I edited the post right after I posted lol

Second run, almost made it 3/4 of the way thru, CPU temp was knocking on 72c with package near 78-79c courtesy of HWmonitor, then bench crashed.....so yeah, moving some fans around........have a tower fan blowing cooler air at the intakes for the case as well..........

I hate Texas.....until about December thru February, then its decent.

If I opened a window, it would just be hotter *sigh*

Question. I removed the original embed photo, and added a new one.
Original photo remains.

Tried to delete post, that doesn't work.

Help?

Go to the advanced post screen and you'll see attachments under the main post that's where you can edit them out EDIT>ADVANCED

Sure it can... doesn't a stress test do something similar? You are maxing out all the cores on the CPU with this benchmark.

If only it weren't java based.
Who does java based stuff these days lol.

And by starting up, I mean clicking the shortcut to the program, not clicking Engage lol.
