Come in, come in and have a looksy!
Through this thread I decided on which cpu to keep and I went with B.

I delidded it, using the vice only method. That went really well by the way.
Then I tested the new temps.
BEFORE temps:
4700MHz / 1.3Vcore / Ambient 21.9c / 30min Prime 95 small ffts
Thermal paste: DIE -> INTEL -> IHS -> NT-H1
Max temps
Core 0: 77c
Core 1: 88c
Core 2: 89c
Core 3: 80c
Difference: 12c
Average temps
Core 0: 72.6c
Core 1: 85.7c
Core 2: 85,7c
Core 3: 77.7c
Difference: 13.1c
AFTER temps:
4700MHz / 1.3Vcore / Ambient 21.9c / 30min Prime 95 small ffts
Thermal paste: DIE -> CLU -> IHS -> NT-H1
Max temps
Core 0: 60c
Core 1: 73c
Core 2: 71c
Core 3: 64c
Difference: 13c
Average temps
Core 0: 57.2c
Core 1: 70.6c
Core 2: 68.1c
Core 3: 61.3c
Difference: 13.4c
It seems that I got a tempdrop around 15c, which is great ofcourse.
But it doesnt seem like the difference from maximum to minimum core changed all that much.
Would it help if I lapped the IHS or maybe someone would recommend trying out the naked-ivy mount?
From what I can read the difference in core temp could be caused by an uneven IHS. Other causes?
What do you folks recommend?
