hey guys, bought some memory for my laptop. when purchasing i didnt see anywhere that it was specific for either AMD or Intel. Once i get it, the ram has Intel compatible stickers all over it. I installed both sticks and when starting it up its just a black screen, put the old memory back in it and comes right up. I did some google-ing and read i can use this memory i just need to change settings in the Bio, yet for some reason i cant get to the Bio i dunno if its a Win10 thing or Lenovo thing and im new to both.

Just want to know your opinions, should i send it back because its not AMd compatible? is there a fix in the Bio? I have some screen shots from Speccy for you guys about my Lenovo G505.

I would remove that from your post, that's your Windows serial...

It looks like you enter the BIOS by pressing Fn+F2, can you try this?

Based on the below spec sheet, it looks like the RAM you bought is compatible.

Is the BIOS on the laptop up to date?

I got into the Bios thanks for your instructions. Found my Lenovo serial number: CB27855719 and also the Bios Version is: 82CN24WW (V 2.04).

I could not find any settings for the memory in which i could physically change. Am i missing something?

If there's nothing to change then the BIOS is completely locked down in that regard.

Can you try inserting the new RAM, then going in to the BIOS?

It looks like your BIOS is up to date, that's good.

Installed the new ram, tried going into bio's screen was just blank. Installed old ram and 1 stick of new, rinsed and repeated, still no screen.

Sounds like you simply have RAM that's incompatible with your system, sorry.
