I've been playing around with my memory overclock on my motherboard...tried higher frequencies, lower frequencies, changing latency, etc.
The sweet spot for my rig appears to be:
- Frequency: 2666 MHz
- Latency: 15-15-15 (forgot last number)
- Command Rate: 1T
- Voltage: 1.2 V
I say this is the sweet spot as when I go up to 3000 MHz (as the 5% jump to 2800 MHz isn't "worth" it) I have to increase the latency to 17-17-17 and increase the voltage to 1.35 V.
So, I am burning more power, increase memory clock by 12.5%, but also increase memory latency by 13.3%...making the frequency increase a wash.
Am I looking at this the wrong way?
Have others seen similar results?
Thanks!
