Hey guys,

Had a crack at overclocking my I7 4790k for the first time last night. Got it stable at 1.2 v on 4.5ghz. However, I was reaching temps at around 80c in AIDA64. Is this too much? I noticed that my ring multiplier was stock at 4.4ghz with 1.2 v- would this be to high and effect the temps? I have a H100i gtx water cooler.

I know this is a fairly common question so thanks in advance for any help, much appreciated.

ambient is about 30c at the momement. Does the voltage of the ring multiplier effect the temps though? I thought dropping the 4400mhz and voltage might allow it to cool and get a higher core overclock.

Is AIO taking air from inside the case through the radiator, or outside of the case through the radiator?

Are the fans being run by Corsair Link or from the motherboard?

What sort of fan profile are you using?

Post your system specs.
