Thought i would make a thread on how i made my 9590 stable because most threads about a 9590 is help to get stable threads.
When i first got this processor i thought i knew what i was getting into but i was WRONG, if you think getting this processor is a guaranteed 5GHz you are WRONG if you think people are being dramatic about the cooling of this chip you are WRONG.
I have had this little bad boy for around 4 months now and finally got some results i have been aiming for after tweaks and tweaks on my Crosshair V formula Z.
What i have atm is:
4.9GHz at a Vcore of 1.4750v which seems to be VERY ideal for this silicon (EVERYONES VOLTAGE WILL BE DIFFERENT)
ALL of the following features are turned off/Disabled:
CnQ
C1
C6 state
HPC
SVM
CPU Spread Spectrum
Turbo boost
EPU Power Saving Mode

NB Frequency set to 2200MHz
HT Frequency set to 2600MHz
Extreme Tweaking Enabled
Digi+ Power Control:

LLC is set to high (Very high cause it to over-volt/heat)
CPU Current Capability set to 130%
CPU Power Duty Control set to Extreme
CPU Thermal Control 140
CPU/NB Current Capability set to 130
CPU/NB Power Response Control set to high (i think lol)
DRAM Current Capability set to 130
Manually turned on all cores
Multiplier 24.5
FSB 200
=4900MHz YAY!!
I have 1866MHz RAM but my CPU seems to prefer 1600MHz so thats where i am running it

I have noticed that if i overclock my RAM at all the system instantly becomes unstable. So i decided to leave the FSB alone.
My cooling options is a 360mm rad on the top of my 760T exhausting the hot air from the 9590 with my rear case fan intaking fresh air on the VRM and i added a socket fan to the otherside of my case blowing fresh air on the rear of my mobo. (HELPED DRASTICALLY LOWER SOCKET TEMPS 9.5C! THANKS Johan45) i drilled a hole on the side of my case and added a 120mm there.
My case doesnt really get warm as i have a msi gtx 970 that stays very chilly so my rad setup is perfect.
Again i will add pics as soon as i get home from work. Will be a while.
Anyways i hope this helps some 9590 users... after all this baby is quick,

D

Edit*
MAX temps after running IBT and Prime95 is:
CPU 0: 69.1C
FX 9590 Core: 69.1C
Socket: 68C
Mobo: 30C

Some beauty pics of my PC.. Ik ik Im working on the braiding now.. also last pic is of added 120mm for rear socket fan... hope this helps people with the beastly fx 9590

Just curios as to the ram, so it has an XMP of 1866 but you can't keep it stable there? What ram is it and how much do you have ?

Did you try upping the CPU-NB voltage a bit ? How about a SS of the SPD page in BIOS under tools, that might tell me something too.

Yeah i can def get you a screen shot later today when i am home..

at one point manually put my NB voltage to 1.3125 but it seemed to have wanted more than that so i put it back to auto.

Im pretty sure i heard somewhere to not put it much above the 1.3000 point

Let's start with the ram, some kits don't set up well on auto/XMP. Did you try the DOCP setting and see if there were any differences. Or give the ram an extra .05v over stock. There are many options to try before overvolting the CPU_NB

ok i will just give you screen shots when i get home from work.. i can take screen shots of my bios in a rog board right?

Yep flash drive formatted to FAT32 and I believe hitting F12 does the trick. I haven't done any in a while. Here's one I took while investigating ram issues with 2400. See the two XMPs one just doesn't look right does it. Bios has a big effect on ram stability.

Yep that's it and a dialogue box will open up asking if you want to save.

sorry it took so long lol

This should help anyone with a CVFZ set up

now for my RAM settings.... Johan45

One more pic reaper, can you go to the tolls section and under SPD give me the programmed timings for that ram?

Funny that's what I'm running in my X99/6700 rig and it does quite well. Didn't come from BB though

yeah BB is scandalous lol i only went there because i had a $50 gift card...
PNY seems to be stepping up their game recently ..
