Creative Sound Blaster Z , will this work in my PC ?

hi members , i want to buy this Sound Card and im not certain if it will work with my Motherboard. I have a PCIe 2.0 x16 slot [black] (at x4 mode, compatible with PCIe x1 and x4 devices) spare on my MB , it is a long slot and the Soundcard is way shorter so im a bit lost.

what do you think ?

What motherboard do you have? Any reason you NEED a soundcard? On most modern boards the onboard audio is plenty good unless you have a NICE set of speakers or cans...

The card is PCIe x1, but it will work in a x8 or x16 slot.

hi EarthDog , i have a ASUS P8Z68 Deluxe/GEN 3 Motherboard..................

the reason i want this Soundcard is i can input Digital SPDIF and then output it via SPDIF , my Motherboard audio cant do that.
