Internet bench marks, just trying to find out where my PC's scores.

A couple of browser tweaks or a different security software can make a big difference, even if the hardware is otherwise identical.

Then there are underlying OS functions and other 3rd party tasks that would need to be ruled out. Simplistic version: best to run each benchmark after a clean boot, reboot to test browser #2, etc. Run 3x per browser minimum and look at the average.

Further proof that this is a poor benchmark...I just ran it on my wife's rig ( exact same specs as mine) hers scored 15040 in Firefox while my rig scored 17008. The only difference between her rig and mine is the case!
What I don't understand when you close your browser like the directions state to do before the test I score the same within a few points on both PC's I have.

Bench testing is never a waste of time why don't you test in this post.
I do my share of browser benchmarking when I need to and have sufficient time, here's one of the few publicly accessible sets of results from a few years ago, C2D 2.66, ~6GB DDR2, HD5770, from left to right, Firefox (x86), Pale Moon x86, Pale Moon x64, Waterfox (x64), 3 runs each from clean profiles/reboots each time, middle results only: http://dromaeo.com/?id=166535,166530,166540,166542

The OP should try this test with HTML5, after all that is the evolving standard now for websites.

With that test, I got 464 with Fx44 on Win10. after disabling plugin but not with the hardware in my sig.

PS: was still on an AMD platform... lol...

I tried that test windows 7 IE 11 score 336 that test is about supporting HTML5.

Ran that test with my sig rig on chrome, scored 521 With Firefox scored 468

With HTML5 test, just dial up your privacy level and the score will go down, it really has nothing to do with benchmarking/speed, it's about whether the browser/settings comply with HTML5 standards and some potential HTML5 standards.

Muhaha I win, :D

FF - Octane Score: 32545
chrome - Octane Score: 36736
IE - Octane Score: 18347

i5 2500k - simple turbo OC to 4500mhz
2x8GB (800mhz)
crucial M4 256GB SSD
HD 7950

You did beat my CPU score and I have a i5 2500k IE 11.

Yes, that's right, its about HTML5.

Why wouldn't you participate in testing for HTML5 usability? after all its the way the internet is heading.

I wouldn't touch that google devs test, they are a private commercial company, who say's we have to "steer" their way?

ahhhhhh HTML5 standards is a test that shows all the browsers test the same, it's about browsers not PC performance. The java is the internet programing webpage you see here in this form. HTLML5 is about photograph manipulation and video.

That post for HTML5 has derailed this thread LOL:rofl:

I know it's a complicated world out there.

SO I benched this, but not with an Intel as I don't have one readily available. So I used my most recent bench set up.

AMD Dual Opteron 875's
Asus K8N-DRE
DDR ECC 333mhz
ATI 7570 VGA
W7 no service packs
Most recent G-Chrome

First 3 tests at stock 2.2ghz 4 cores.
6308 - 6774 - 6338
Second set of tests at 100mhz 2.3ghz OC 4 cores.
6959 - 6965 - 7608
Third set of tests at 200mhz 2.4ghz OC 4 cores.
7631 - 7259 - 9130
Forth set of tests at 300mhz 2.5ghz OC 4 cores.
8003 - 7948 - 8174
Fifth set of tests at 400mhz 2.6ghz OC 4 cores.
7494 - 8784 - 8449

As I increased some clockage, the benchmark seemed to run a bit faster. However, The scores are all over the road like a drunk driver.

Wait, his internet test derailed the thread about internet testing? :escape:
The title Quote:Internet bench marks, just trying to find out where my PC's scores.

The test he linked to is how well does your browser support HTML5? It is not a bench test, it only shows compatibility to HTML5. It is a YES and NO compatibility summery.;)

Thanks for doing the test did you close the browser each time you tested, that is what the directions say to do?

I'm going to try doing the test with CPU speed step off and see if that will add more consistency.

I think the ss is weird because of quicksync.
i5 4690k / igpu @ 1450mMHz / 16GB RAM
