Corsair Hydro Series HG10 with non closed loop CPU Cooler

Hello, just trying to plan things out here for a custom watercooling loop I will build. Has anyone tried using a non closed-loop LGA 1150 CPU block on a Corsair Hydro Series HG10?
I ask this because it would cheaper, and also I could re-use the CPU block and the HG10 for another card when I decide to upgrade.

You can, but you'll have to mod the bracket to accommodate the non ASETEK mount. It would be more trouble than it's worth imho.
