Memory IC's manufacturer for DDR4 desktop

Is there a list for DDR4 IC's for G.SKILL or HyperX FURY, CORSAIR Vengeance, Crucial Ballistix Sport.
 
Kingston = only Hynix ( in mass sales only MFR )
Crucial = only Micron D9 ( couple of IC but all are similar in OC )
Corsair = mixed, have to look at the label but most new and all 3466+ kits are Samsung
Patriot = mixed, all new are Samsung
G.Skill = mixed, all new are Samsung
Mushkin = all seems Hynix MFR
Geil = mixed, all 3400+ are Samsung
ADATA = most older kits were Hynix, also most lower frequency are Hynix, new higher kits will be probably Samsung
Team Group = most older were Hynix, most new Samsung
PQI = Hynix
Avexir = mixed, high kits Samsung

I don't know if I missed anything ;)

Simply everything new 3333+ is Samsung regardless of brand and some brands make kits only on Samsung nowadays just because their prices were the lowest and IC can make higher frequency.
There should be Hynix AFR "soon" but it stuck ES stage for over an half a year.
You can also take a look at motherboard compatibility lists. Some manufacturers are listing IC next to memory kit which they were testing.

In my reviews is usually mentioned IC - photo or screenshot but I'm not able to test all memory kits on the market.
 
Actually I thought their db won't be updated since mod was barely active for last years. There were missing many DDR3 kits too even though on the i4memory forums people were adding them. I was posting there for some time but later forums went nearly inactive.

Btw. DDR4 are easy to figure out since:
1. Barely any brand is using Micron in overclocking/enthusiast series, except Crucial
2. All higher frequency kits are only Samsung in maybe 4 versions from which only 2 can make 3200+ easily
3. There is only one Hynix IC in mass production/sales used in gaming/overclocking kits which is barely ever used in higher kits than 3200.

So maybe 95% kits are Hynix or Samsung. Most brands are using Samsung now and all higher frequency kits have Samsung so really don't have to think long to know what to expect under the heatsinks.

So the new G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB Model F4-3200C14D-16GVK Timing 14-14-14-34 is using Samsung IC's? Do the G.SKILL NT Series have Samsung IC's and can they be clocked as high as V Series?
 
3000 CL14, 3200 CL14, 3600 CL16 and 3733 CL17 are all on new Samsung B IC. All of them are overclocking great - can count on 4000+ stable.
Standard series and lower clocked kits are probably still on older IC. This new is only in 8 and 16GB modules. At the end it looks like 3866+ kits have worse IC for overclocking than new 3000-3733 kits.

I was planning to add 3600 c16 thread but I have one board in RMA and 2nd one is still busy with other things.

Looking forward to a 3600C16 thread/test/review... I've got a new GSkill 16GB 3600C16 (2x8GB) kit in transit... I'm guessing that this kit will come spec'd with (new Samsung B ic) as single-sided 8GB sticks?

With DDR3 the good dual rank kits had better performance then the single rank kits. Like a double-sided Samsung D rev or double-sided Hynix CFR kit (2666) versus a single-sided Hynix MFR kit (2666). Does that still apply or hold true with DDR4 kits?

Johan got 3600 17-18-18 kit on the same IC as I have 3600 16-16-16. OC is about the same.
Motherboards make the biggest difference. For me ASUS boards OC memory worse than MSI. From ASRock only OCF seems good idea for benching. I'm not sure if anyone OC memory @4000+ on Extreme series. I'm satisfied with MSI Z170I Gaming Pro AC which went up to 4250 but has some issues with bclk so can't really bench above ~4133.

Generally single sided are easier to OC. Performance is about the same. Difference is mainly because higher capacity memory usually has more relaxed sub timings.

I should get 3000 C14-14-14 TridentZ soon which supposed to be on the same Samsung B as higher kits. I guess I will find out in couple of days.
 
My G.Skill Trident Z DDR4-3600 16-16-16-36 kit came in yesterday and it seems to run fine with XMP settings on my ASRock Z170 Extreme 6.

The date ic code for this kit is recent with: 1603A500 (Samsung ic).

I've also tested/ran 3333 @15-15-15 and 3200 @14-14-14 on the board but I haven't been able to manage 3733... I'm not sure if it is the board/BIOS or some of the settings/timings that are holding me back?

To read full IC code you can check Thaiphoon Burner. Free version is limited but let to read SPD/XMP profiles and additional data. It's great if you don't like to remove heatsinks. I have nothing against removing heatsinks but I hate when thermal tape is damaged and new is always additional cost.

You can check XMP settings for higher clock too. I was able to use them up to 4000.
Btw. I'm curious how is Extreme 6 overclocking. I had a chance to overclock memory only on ASRock ITX Gaming which wasn't the best and I couldn't pass ~3733 in dual and ~3866 in single channel. ASUS Hero stuck at ~4100 while MSI ITX Gaming went up to 4250.

Btw2 Since ASUS Hero is in RMA then I set 3600 C16 TridentZ on X99 and it was working fine @3200 13-13-13 1.35V. I could check it higher. Maybe when I get 3000 C14 kit.
 
PolRoger try different ram slot on the asrock OCF slot 1 and 3 isn't worth chit don't know how the traces are ran on that board but give it a try
 
I think on all Z170 boards is the same. 4th slot counting from CPU side is the best , then 2nd. This is interesting as 2nd slot has shorter traces. On ASUS there is about 1-2 memory ratios difference between 1/3 and 2/4 and best overclocking is 4th slot. The same was on Ranger.

Decided to try single channel mode on the Extreme 6 at 3733 using XMP settings but with main timings @ 17-17-17-37.

I was able to boot into Windows using one dimm (slot #2) but it wasn't AIDA64 memory stable... Tried one dimm (slot#4) and both sticks appear to be AIDA64 memory stable. The memory support list for the Extreme 6 shows support for single channel mode at 3733 with a G.Skill (4GB stick) F4-3733C17D-8GTZ and dual channel at 3733 with an Avexir (4GB sticks) AVD4UZ137331804G-2xxx... Higher speeds at 3866 and 4000 showed single channel 4GB stick support only.
