Hello all. I have just built new(actually old :D) system with i7 4930k, p9x79 le and 4x4 gb ddr3 2133 mhz of kingston hyperx beasts. I'm doing cfd analysis so I need a huge amount of memory bandwidth. I tried to overlock rams to 2400 mhz, I only changed Cpu vccsa to 1,3 ghz and ram voltages to 1,65 v. When I overclocked memories to 2400 mhz, my analysis times are going worse. What should I do now? I want to run my analysis with higher performance. I guess, I need overclock cpu core too? Here are my timing settings;

My motherboard supports up to 3000 mhz(with update bios), what is the max. safest frequency for my for memories.

Most others are better with the ram overclocking but I'll throw in my couple cents

Definitely think about overclocking your cpu a bit.

Your timings are very loose for 2400. Which sticks exactly are you using? Isn't stock voltage for those 1.65v? If they're the sticks I'm thinking, you should be able to get them to run around 2400 9-9-9 with something like 1.75-1.80v or so. Also try getting to 1T instead of 2T.
 
This kit is probably based on Hynix MFR ( as most Kingston in this specification ) so you can count on 2400 10-12-12 or 2600-2666 11-13-13/12-13-13 ~1.65V. Up to 1.75V should be fine for 24/7 work. Up to 1.85V for quick tests. Maybe higher, depends from kit.
My advice would be to take a look at any other Hynix MFR review/test and compare timings. HyperX Predator 2133-2666 C11, Patriot Viper III 2133-2400, Team Xtreem 2133-2666 CL11, GSkill TridentX 2666 C11/12, GSkill ARES 2133/2400 CL11 and some other kits are based on similar chips.
You can take a look at my list but not many kits were 4x4GB and tested on X79 at the same time. My best Hynix MFR kits were 4x8GB Patriot Viper III which I pushed to 3200 for competition but max stable was still not much above 2800 12-14-14. 4GB modules are generally overclocking better but don't count on full stability above ~2666.

Actually my memories are 2x(2x4gb), however operating quad channel with no problems. The default xmp profile is: 2133 mhz 11-11-12-30 @1.6V

I have tried bunch of different selections . I never changed any voltage values except 1.65V for 2400 mhz. The best profile is default xmp 2133 mhz 11-12-12-30 @1.6V with 1T DRAM command rate so far. Now I am ready to overclocking my cpu and also adjust memory timing settings.

May I ask two simple questions? First of all, the default xmp ram cycle time(tRas) is 30 clocks, should not be as at least 11+12+12 = 35 ? Secondly what is the easy calcution for latency.I mean, for example for ddr3 the latency time in nanoseconds= (2/Mhz_value)xCL(value) as far as know. Is it correct calculation? It's better the calculate minimum value different mhz values and timings.

There are too many variables to count the best settings. Even if you count better latency then it can be slower during work. Memory controller counts more than the memory itself. Also CPU cache speed is more important in some cases.

Your reviews are very usefull. Thank you so much. I realized that, when I set deafult xmp profile vccsa voltage goes 1.3 V. Is it safe? I read a lot of stuff about 1.3 V is dead zone. However, the profile makes it otomaticaly?
 
system won't boot :)

but really best performance will be at about 2400-2600 CL9-10 on X79
