Patriot released Viper Elite DDR4 memory series already couple of months ago and I had no chance to test any DDR4 kits from this manufacturer so I think it's about time to fix it.
This review will focus on Patriot Viper Elite 2x4GB DDR4-2800 16-18-18 1.20V memory kit which is listed under PVE48G280C6KBL PN. Description can be found on the manufacturer's website.
Tested Patriot Elite memory kit has only one XMP profile which is quite relaxed regardless if we look at the required voltage or not. 16-18-18 main timings are actually popular in 3000-3400 memory kits nowadays, not in 2800. Anyway if we buy lower frequency memory kit the most important is general performance and possible overclocking potential.
On the attached screenshots we can see that software has some problems to read IC but in the Thaiphoon Burner window there is info that memory has been built on Hynix SK board so we already know what to expect.
XMP stability test. I think that 3h of AIDA64 cache and memory stability test is enough for XMP settings. I will try to focus some more on overclocking results.
and couple of test results at XMP settings:
