XFire 390 + 280x

Long story short, I shipped my rig to Japan for a deployment a year ago, packed it up wrong and the 280x ending up bending after the package was dropped. The card lasted about a month, then massive artifacts so I replaced the card with a 390. I saved the 280x just in case I found a way to fix, which I did. Stuck it in the oven at 385 degrees for 10 mins, card works again.

My question, being I now have a second card, can I Xfire the 280x and 390? I know older generations of Xfire would cause both cards to operate at the lower cards' specs, but have heard that has changed and each will operate normally. Is this so?

No, you can't Crossfire those cards.

It's not "when DX12 drops", it's "when game developers actually implement mismatched GPU functionality from DX12 into games".
