***UPDATE****
I picked up a Rampage Formula but have not tested it to find max FSB.

Today I picked up a set of Corsair Dominator GT DDR3 2000 @ 8-8-8-24. I checked the ram list and they have the Hyper ICs :) I was also informed that I needed a DDR3 775 board to make any serious Boints.
Today I picked up a Gigabyte GA-EP45T-UD3R as Gigabyte has been referenced as one of the top boards for overclocking :)

I currently have the option of buying a set of CORSAIR Dominator Platinum's DDR3 2133 @ 8-10-10-27 Ver 3.24 (should have Micron ICs) for $134.99. I also have the option of buying a set of CORSAIR Dominator Platinum's DDR3 2800 @ 12-14-14-36 Ver 5.29 (should have Hynix ICs) for $135.99.
I also can pick up a 4x2gb G.Skill Ripjaw Z DDR3 2133 @ 9-11-10-28 for $58 (no serial number but made Nov 2011) model number F3-17000CL9Q-8GBZH. Checking the RAM LIST - this set should have either Hynix H9C or Samsung HCH9 ICs. Should I grap on of these or are they priced to high????

Thanks
MM

The corsair ddr3 CL 8 you already purchased look like the best ones already. When I mentioned micron that applies to DDR2. The only other kit I'd suggest for DDR3 is some good samsung 2400CL9. The 775 board isn't going to run very high speed ram any way. So the CL8 stuff is just right for it. Likely somewhere between 16-1800 ish tight timings.

I'm waiting on a set (4x1gb) of Corsair Dominator DDR2 1066 Ver 1.1. These should have either Micron D9GMH or D9GKX ICs. The first ones arrived DOA (Ver 1.2) so I just grabbed another set of Corsair Dominator 1066 so that I would have that speed covered. The seller advertised them as having Micron D9's but when I got them, they where Ver 4.1. There not the best OCing memory:(

Agree with Johan's guidance. For 775 ddr3 you should have a nice set of hypers...they should do you well. Overall...for ddr3, you should have a nice set of hypers, a nice set of psc and a nice set of samsungs (the ones Johan mentioned) and you're all set.

PSC Memory???????

TridentX DDR3 2400 Samsung's :

9-11-11-31 - HYK0
10-12-12-31 - HC15
10-12-12-31 - HYH9

First one should say 2500 in serial#, PSC = powerchip

9-11-11-2400 HYK0 = 2500
10-12-12-2600 HYK0
That's the samsung that you want to get.

Looks good the date is right(2013) but like I said not good on 775 my kit or should I say kits don't like any thing below 8cl so kind of useless if you ask me but it's on you

You don't want 2x8Gb for benching MM. What are you buying this for? Three of us have told you already that 775 won't run that speed and it's really a waste for your AMD

I'm looking at using it for benching. I got lucky with the hypers as they were 3x2gb so they are easy migration to the 1366 board later.
@ Q_F your link to the ram was sold out :(

Hypers = Dominator GT DDR3 2000
PSC = Crucial Elite DDR3 2133
Samsung 2500 = What do I need to pick up??????
Elpida Base AE-E = Ripjaws DDR3 1600

Don't see anything for sell might have to go with psc but I never own a set So funsoul might know better always over price for me

I got beat in a sub by someone using DDR3 2400. That was why I was looking at DDR3 2400 memory. Everything up to 2400 is reasonable, after that imho they ask to much.

Can you link your sub and the one you lost to? Would be interested in checking them out as speeds big enough to use ddr3 2400 are basically unheard of on 775 (the ddr3 wr on 775 is "only" 1114MHz).

For 775, I've gotten the best results using d9gtr's and/or hypers.

That said...if you're going to be benching multiple platforms that use ddr3, it's good to have nice sticks to play with so your list above is a good start.
The ones to keep your eyes open for (Woomack would be much better at this)...
Hypers- corsair dommy 2000c7's
PSC- gskill pi's (2200, 2300, 2400) are the ones that most people try to snag when they pop up
Samsung- Those 2400c9 tridentx that Johan45 pointed out

If you have 2-4 of each of those you're in great shape. No need for anything else imho.

For timings and voltages to shoot for (at least for d9's, hypers and psc), you can check my binning thread here.

UPDATE/Clarification on the number of sticks- Having 2-4 or each assumes you will never run quad channel. If you're looking to get into x79 then you might want to accumulate 6-8 sticks over time so you have spares/backups. This applies to psc and samsung only as you'll rarely (if ever) want to run hypers on x79 (perhaps for wprimes in single channel mode but the 2-4 will cover that) and you will never run d9's (maybe not even on 775 hehe).

He's likely talking his FX rig since that's the DIV he competed in. @ MM some good ram at lower speed will likely do just as well unless it's 3D then the extra speed can help
