Hi,
I have just got an extremely good deal on an acer xb27hu. However this monitor only comes with a display port input. I have a temporary graphics card at the moment until pascal is released.(Asus 650ti) this only has dvi or hdmi output. I understand I need an active adapter, however the ones I am finding are dp to hdmi, like the link below
http://www.amazon.co.uk/StarTech-19...=1460838235&sr=1-7&keywords=Hdmi+to+dp+active

However I guess I can't plug that into the monitor then run a hdmi cable to the pc?

Is there no choice but something like below?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/StarTech-HD...=1460838235&sr=1-2&keywords=Hdmi+to+dp+active

My other thought was USB type c to dp? Would this work for a main monitor?

This is meant to be just a temporary solution so I can sell my current monitor to help fund the pascal card.

Thanks in advance

I run mine the opposite way...display port to hdmi. It's just a pin out conversion...no need for an active adapter.

I bought a cable that has hdmi in one end and display port in the other.

HI, so you use a dp on gfx and hdmi on monitor? I understand that direction work's easily, but hdmi doesn't contain everything a dp needs.

I don't want to spend a fortune on a temporary fix : ( so am hoping a simpler solution might work
