Is there a way to retain a local account on a Windows 10 machine and still access the Microsoft store?
I upgraded a customer's machine to Windows 10 over the weekend and used a local account since he didn't want to fuss with using a password to log in. All was fine until he went to buy a movie from the Microsoft store last night and had to use his Microsoft account. That also changed the account type so that now he has to log in with a password. Trouble is, he doesn't remember his password. I should mention this guy has some cognitive issues from a brain injury.
Now, I have software on a self-booting optical disk that I can use to remove or change the password. That's not the problem. But my question is, can he use the Microsoft store and retain a local machine account?
