you can get optiplex 790's for almost the same price or cheaper on ebay.. usually fully loaded ready to run..they run on socket 1155

Core 2 Quad CPU. Core 2 Quad run software. Core 2 Quad make HTPC. Core 2 Quad make cheap server. Core 2 Quad still work.

Yes, also I also just updated a core 2 system to 1151 Pentium G4400 Skylake Dual-Core 3.3 GHz for $157.99 and I can tell you internet surfing is so much faster because of the Busses speed, I also did the internet bench test before and after and it was much faster CPU and buss efficiency and CPU instructions.
