FEATURED Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 2x16GB DDR4-2400 - BLS2K16G4D240FSE

Today I have memory kit which is maybe not the fastest but is quite interesting and should be good for all who need high capacity memory for gaming or other daily tasks. As in title, it will be Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 2x16GB DDR4-2400 memory kit. Description in on Crucial website so I won't paste here all of that.

What is for sure interesting is that this memory is first Crucial memory kit in new, red digital camo heatsinks. It's also based on 16GB modules. Actually I've received two single modules which are based on the same memory IC so will be tested as dual channel kit.












XMP results.
There is only one XMP profile which works perfectly fine on ASRock Z170 OC Formula and MSI Z170I Gaming Pro AC motherboards. Results at these settings are below. There is also screenshot after 6h+ AIDA64 stability test.

Results at 1.20V

2666 16-16-16 1.20V

2666 14-14-14 1.35V


2800 15-15-15 1.35V


3000 16-16-16 1.35V - unstable



I couldn't set higher clock than 3000 which wasn't stable regardless of voltage. Highest stable setting seems 2800 15-15-15 1.35V which is not that bad for 2x16GB kit.
My memory wasn't scalling above 1.4V so all results are up to 1.35V ( 1.37V is showing AIDA64 ).

I don't know if anyone noticed but performance in HyperPi 32M is as good as on higher frequency single rank kits ( 2x4GB 3000-3200 C16 ). I actually noticed that today while comparing results to other kits in this benchmark.

Hi thanks for this post and for to push me to OC my Ballistix Sport Lt ddr4 since I could only archive 2667mhz with XMP profile on, I ran in so many problems even Windows failing to boot, and the problem was XMP was not letting me OC over 2667mhz, but having it disable I manage to get 2933mhz with stock timings and 1.35 volts on a Gigabyte ab350 gaming 3 mobo with a Ryzen 5 1600x.
I OC 4 sticks in stock timings 16-16-16-16-39T 2 dual rank 2x8gb @ 2400mhz and 2 2x16gb single dual rank @ 2400mhz all 4 running at 2933mhz.
My Specs are:
Ryzen 5 1600x OC @ 3.9mhz
48gb DDR4 Ballistix Sport Lt OC @ 2933mhz
Gigabyte ab350 Gaming 3
Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1
PSU: EVGA 550 Watts
