Guys,

Those of you who own one of these $15 boards, please post here.

My board is not being recognized (see attached image). I've reinstalled system studio and the drivers multiple times.

System specs:
Surface Pro 3, Win 10.1, latest version of Intel System Studio.

I've never used this board.

However, when I have received similar issues in the past it was usually related to one of the following:

1. Bad USB cable
2. Bad power supply for the demo board
3. I had to push the board reset button after I connected to the board (hardware issue on the board)

Have you tried these?
 
JrClocker, thank you for your suggestions. It turned out that this problem is limited to my Surface-3. I had no trouble flashing the ROM on my desktop running Windows 10.1 and on a Linux machine at work.

I must say that I am having a torrid time figuring out how to do anything with this board a la Arduino. The Intel forums are a complete mess from a newbie's perspective.
