whats the ddr4 sweet spot?

whats the best speed/timings combo on the market? i remember there being a calculation to find the fastest ram vs timings but i figured it would be just as easy to ask.

what about straight performance?

You won't really notice a difference in most applications (and it tends not to be worth the price premium), but the 'equation' is CAS/Actual Speed X 1000 to give you the results in nanoseconds. You can also divide by the DDR speed (Ie 1600 instead of 800) you just have to multiply by 2000 - http://www.overclock.net/t/1370629/clock-speed-vs-cas-latency#post_19510967.

But, there is more to it than that.
