Hi,
I just bought some new RAM for my older computer but when I use 4 DIMM slots the PC wont boot
The manual states "Supports triple channel JEDEC DDR3-1600. Officially supports up to 24GBs of DDR3 memory"
CPU: i7 920
Mobo: EVGA X58 SLI LE
Old RAM: Corsair TR3X6G1333C9 (1333MHz - 6GB (3x2GB))
New RAM: G.SKILL RIPJAWS F3-12800CL9Q-16GBXL (1600MHz - 16GB(4x4GB))
Each RAM stick works as I checked them one-by-one. The most I can get it to use on my system is three DIMM slots (12GB) but once I add the fourth one in the PC wont boot. The LCD screen on the MOBO keeps showing F3, 68, 69 which don't mean anything in the manual.
The only thing I can think of right now is that a DIMM slot is busted but I dont think that's the case?
Any ideas as to why this would not with with 4 DIMMs ?
Thanks
