With the GTX 1080's having Display Port 1.4, isn't it time we see some 4k 144hz monitors?

Anyone know how long until they should start appearing?

Nice, thanks for the link.
Although I wish there was a ETA.

I'm hoping they come out around the same time as the 1080ti's. Hoping a pair of those will get me atleast 100fps at 4k.

Your are more than welcome!

I wonder about the specs and performance requirements. 1080Ti should be enough(?) - or two in SLI.

Price is another thought - $1200 ~ $1600?

Who knows:p

Right now a pair of GTX 1080's will only get you 60FPS on most games at 4K, I don't think a pair GTX 1080ti's will get you to 100FPS at 4K, it should be a 25-30% improvement.

Here is a single GTX 1080 at 4K

Dont expect 4K 144Hertz gaming in the near future, Hell even 1080P 144Hertz isnt widely available now.

And now me here, Sitting in my room, With my 1050P screen, Happy :).

I used to run a pair of 980's heavily OC'ed on a UHD monitor, and I was hardly hitting 60 FPS maxed out on AAA titles (Dragon age inquisition, Witcher 3, SoM, Dying light...). I doubt you get 60 FPS with a single 970 unless you use low/medium settings, or play 4 years+ old games/

I have a 40" UHD monitor with a single 970. and I get 60 fps. If a pair of 1080 aren't an improvement, the limitation isn't in the video cards.
Please be clear with what games and settings you run... clearly a 970 does not run most any title at 4K at 60 FPS without significant IQ sacrifices (no AA, med/high, etc) in professional reviews so...

This for sure, I bought a second 970 because I couldn't hit 60 FPS on 1440p

I've been holding off on a upgrade for 5 years. I'm still using a GTX 580

I was hoping that the 1080 was going to be powerful enough to handle 4k 144hz, but I guess I have another year. :-/

I might get a gtx 1060 and hope it holds me over until 4k 144hz can be done with 1 or maybe 2 even video cards.

+1 For consistency sake Nvidia likes to up grade to the next tier about 25-30%
Looks like that has been blown out of the water, no? What I am saying is that the 1080 FE is already at 25% or so faster than a 980Ti... we haven't seen the 1080Ti yet which could be even more on top of that....

... or is that what you are saying, another 25% on top of the 1080? The 980 to 980Ti was the first one that I recall which saw such a large gap between 'flagship' and second tier card. 780 to 780Ti was around 15%. As Janus said, we have no idea where it will land. My bet like yours though is around that 15-25% range (closer to 25%).

That is what I'm estimating GTX 1080 Ti is another 25% over GTX 1080.
