Ive looked a bit at this and found https://www.maketecheasier.com/3-ways-to-backup-user-profile-in-windows-7/

I am wondering 2 things:
1) is it really this simple? Step 1 seems a bit simple and like I would miss something.

2) In step two of the article I linked, there are no steps listed to enable the "copy to" button...except for using a third party software. There must be a way to do this without third party software right?

Thanks in advance :)

Edit: Solution is : https://social.technet.microsoft.co...ackup-windows-7-settings?forum=w7itprogeneral
Use the Windows Easy Transfer Tool. Its still not quite what I was looking for. Ideally I would like something that treats user profiles almost like a disk image that I can just put back into place after a fresh install, but the WET does *nearly* that. The only thing that was really missing was the user control information (allowing and disallowing certain programs has to be redone)

Win7 Pro. I tried a variation on solution 1 with my own backup utility (windows backup has always been horrible to me) but I would rather use solution 2. If solution 1 doesnt work then I have to remake all the user profiles.
