hi i just installed 2 noctua a14s as intake fans and hooked them to my fan controller . if i try to use the lowest fan speed setting the fan will attempt to turn off completely than jump up to 100 %. so I used bios and ran at 30 % . superior airflow vs the corsairs maxed out ! . photos are below

The Noctuas have a higher static pressure...so that makes sense.

In the Corsair case in my "Mini Folder" (a "high airflow" case...aka low resistance) the AF fans were the same airflow, but quieter for me.

Makes sense... One is a top tier fan and one isn't.
Did you get the PWM model?

yes . I was able to use speed fan to play with speeds .. these things are hairblowers above 40 % / 1300 rpm

Ah, you got the 3000RPM model, I have the 2000RPM myself.

What fan controller are you using? You should be able to control down to ~10% on a PWM signal.

my lcd fan controller couldn't run this at anywhere near 10 % . if I try what happens is the fan will shut down completely than torque to 100 % . 40 is the lowest i could do on the sentry . I hooked to the motherboard instead and used speedfan . works wonders . I can go as low as 5 %

There you go, get a powered PWM fan splitter like the one made by Swiftech and control them all off your system temperature via a motherboard header!

I have 3 open channels but they're all tied down to the cpu temperature. I created a gpu temperature control on the noctaus . they don't spin unless the gpu heats up . " gaming mode "

You may have gotten too high rpm fans. The NF-A14 PWM works well. I myself am using the NF-A14 ULN fans as front intake. They are running 750 RPM ATM. They come with speed reduction cables that get them down to about 600 rpm.
