I know this is not always a favorite but it's been a while. Just thought it's a good time to re-visit it and run some of that newer HW. PCMark05 is still good for some boints. This is by far IMO the most tweakable/PITA bench to run and I usually won't unless it's for something like this. I'm sure I have a couple systems I should run through it. For those that have never run this benchmark before, pay close attention to the submission rules. I will disallow submissions that don't follow this

Ok so im having a couple of fails here:

EDIT: how do you keep XP startup below 220mb/s ? think mine hit something like 295mb/s

I'm going to try and set this up later today when I'm done work. I'll be able to help better then. Media encoder should be available in a DL. Not sure about Win8 though.
 
For the required tests just select system suite. The rest aren't needed.
 
OK did a quick run, you do need WME9 installed to get a result. I found a link, posted in the OP not sure if it's the one you want since I had one on a stick already. I'll also post the address to the result file so all can find it.

If Opty comes out and play I may need to follow been a minute but it's going to be hard not to play along need to see if I can hang with a $1600 cpu and a $1200 gpu :) wow been three years sents the last pc05 overclockagon I was in, how time flies

Yeah, I knew it had been a while. The big CPU and cards don't help much in this bench really. Need for speed and hard tweaking. Maybe a raid 0. I wanna try out the sammy 950 NVme next. See how it does.
 
Didn't touch Metal's pixel shader though.
 
i was going to do it but the benchmark is so old it's asking me to install a bunch of stuff that didn't come with it and i just don't feel like tracking it down.

PCM05 is a storage benchmark mostly. A few SSD's in Raid 0 or Iram or Acard and some software hacks......sorry, tweaks, and you're in business.
Your score is a little low. I have 29xxx on a 980 BE @ 4400 and 1 SSD and almost no tweaks.
