I got a A7 core on my 4P server, it's ppd is around 340k, credit is 6289, base credit is 1000. And I'm using all 64 cores on my 4P for this.

edit:
TPF=00:00:16, total time per WU 00:26:40

Its the new AVX core currently in development. However a AMD 4p evidently isn't the best thing for them, 32 threads on a pair of 12 core ivy xeons is 280k. Are your chips 6200 or 6300?

6276 with V7.4.15 beta client.

Right now for a 8610 A4 WU, I get about 120K ppd, I have not seen any 90xx with V7.4.15 yet.

I'm just looking for an excuse to build a 2P Xeon system. GPU folding is remarkable, but there's nothing like the feel of a many-core CPU system under the hood.

how are you configured for the a7, all i get is:

01:29:16:WU00:FS00:FahCore 0xa7 started
01:29:16:WARNING:WU00:FS00:FahCore returned: FAILED_2 (1 = 0x1)

when I try to run them.k

Perhaps I need 14.04....but that run super slow on my supermicro board.

Beta client 7.4.15 and client-type=advanced or better

I'm not sure but 12.x.x is EOL anuway, it would not hurt to try 14.04 or go with 16.04.

I decided to go to 14.04 and while I was downloading the components my 12.04 suddenly picked up an A7 and started folding it. I'm not sure that was because some 14.04 components were already installed or if 12.04 is ok for A7. But I am now folding on 14.04 and things are looking fine so far.

I wonder how deep the supply of A7's runs....a week, a month, a year?
