The way the article is written, looks like click bait! The title screams click bait! Because it's not 100 percent owned, like that 2006 buy out wave... Where a lot of companies got bought out...

Adios, newegg for me.

You were always padding some ceo's wallet. Nothing has changed lol.

As long as the customer service doesn't change; and product price gouging doesnt occur, then newegg is probably not going to see much of a difference as it progresses.

around 2.63 billion dollars; higher than some countries' GDP

What kind of pointless interjection is that? AT&T tried to buy out T-Mobile and failed and still ended up paying them $3 billion. EFH bought TXU for $45 billion. NextEra is buying Oncor for $18 billion. Wal-Mart bought Jet for $3+ billion. Google bought Doubleclick and Nest for $3+ billion each, and Motorola for $12+ billion. Microsoft bought Skype for $8+ billion and Nokia for $7+ billion. Facebook bought WhatsApp for $19 billion. Buyouts "higher than some countries' GDP" happen all the time...

I saw this. While it doesn't influence my opinion of NewEgg, I'm pretty much done with them after they packaged about $2000 in hard drives extremely poorly - TWICE in a row. Unfortunately, they are not what they used to be and I've spent a decent chunk of change with them both personally and professionally :-/

I hope the services and prices stay the same, I'm able to save more money on sales compared to Amazon.

We are sorry to hear that. Send us an email at [email protected] with your order number and any photos/descriptions of the way your items were received. We would like to correct that going forward.

Meh. I'm OK with filling an American CEO's wallet. Have to draw the line at my country's enemies. Just sayin'.

I didn't realize we were at war with China ATM. Also, where do you buy from that's 100% American. Let's face it we ARE living in a global society now.

Understanding that we are not to go all-in political, I headlined this thread to include the word 'Chinese' completely on purpose. Although Blaylock is partially correct in that we are living in a global something, it isn't society. Communism isn't compatible with Freedom. I personally avoid purchasing products from Communist countries whenever I can determine that fact. It doesn't take very much serious history reading to understand the horrors of that form of savagery.

only thing they have going for them for me anymore is their store card 0% interest deals, used it for my new tv and will probably use it when it comes time to upgrade my storage on the server in the not so distant future.

Considering China is currently a Capitalist country (largely) (has been since the mid-1990's from what I found on the subject), with some Socialist influence remaining, your argument on this point doesn't seem very valid.

If you never bought anything from China you likely wouldn't have a computer, a phone, or a tablet, and wouldn't be able to post on this website. Considering that most computer components are manufactured in China.

I have a close family member who is a CEO and has built factories in China. We are most assuredly in an economic war with China and have been for many years-and that's the view of the Chinese. Failing that bit of insight, a quick perusal of the situation in the Eastern Pacific adds another element to the ongoing conflict. It's the new Cold War. Anyone who thinks the Communists aren't firmly in control should Google Tiananmen Square circa 1989. The protesters lost, hard. That wasn't a negotiation. Or check the editorials in their media regarding "Western ideas". Taiwan is a capitalist system, and should not be confused with Red China. They become very touchy about that. Very.

Okay so lemme get this straight, Newegg will still be selling computer components at decent prices right? Okay cool, that's all that matters to me! Newegg ftw!
