HDMI 2.1 that is. This will take a while to saturate the market, but probably not very long considering I've been wrong before, well, if you count that time back in '62. 
The specs look at pushing more data as usual, both audio and video. New cabling to make it happen, but backward compatible excepting don't expect older hardware to magically transfer stutter free 8k using the new format/cables.
