Hello Huys & Gals,
I am writing to ask a couple questions about my GA-990FXA-UD3 R4 motherboard and windows question.
I am having trouble with my motherboard and have to send it back for repair but there is a couple questions i have.
Gigabyte says they might be able to repair it but maybe not so here are my questions.
If they can't repair it can i swap out the current GA-990FXA-UD3 R4 with the GA-990FXA-UD3 R5 board without needing to reinstall windows 8.1 64bit oem?
I was told if they were the same R4 board it should work fine as it is the same hardware and is considered a repaired board and I could call microsoft to have them reactivate Windows if it deactivate when new board is installed.
So is that correct if i got the same r4 board or replacement r4 board?
If they can't repair it they said the would replace with the latest R5 board.
So if anyone knows if any or all I listed above is true I would greatly appreciate it.
Please let me know.
Thanks in advance
Grenpa
