My buddy who runs a youtube channel with me (as well as works on his own doing video production stuff, small scale nothing huge) has over the years built up a rather large collection of raw footage and completed edits. It appears hes footage hoarder. So he asked me about multi-drive docks to turn several HDDs into one big storage pool basically. The only solutions I was aware of for that were rather expensive, but then I did a little research and found some stuff. Do you guys have any feedback/suggestions? Unfortunately, my buddy isn't on the big bucks side of things so we still have to keep the costs down.

So I found those and they appear to be raid enabled. The most interesting one to me is the mediasonic ProRaid HFR2-SU3S2 4 bay unit for $149. Decent price, good reviews. I suppose the ORICO 5 bay unit for $165 is also worth considering. Thoughts? Thanks!
