Okay copied a shared network folder that had previously been grented access to to another shared network folder but deleted. access has now been changed on orginal shared drive however can request a back up via offsite IT of deleted fiolde. Is this a major IT undertaking that will be flagged up to all and sundry. There are a lot of cuts being made at work and dont want to be flagged up as a nuisance or inept?

Nuisance probably (mostly internal IT group) but inept, unlikely. This is a very unfortunate occurrence that does happen from time to time.

Thats great thank you just in current climate prefer to avoid drawing attention to error or anything local admin might mention to manager.

If everything is working as I would expect it the IT dept could use a backup or shadow copy to restore the most recent/correct version in a matter of minutes.
