Hello
I own Alphacool card converter V.2 - 12V DC to 12V AC I would like to use Pump speed monitoring:
"With the help of this 3-pin connector and a cable for connection, the fan speed can be monitored by a controller."
my omen is:
Can I use the cable fan cpu connector (12v) from the motherboard to the V.2 card converter? to monitor the speed ...
thank you

I'm not familiar with that kind of setup and would be careful connecting anything to the CPU fan header on the MB. I would check with the product's manual, email Alphacool and maybe someone more familiar on this topic can chime in.

from the description speed monitor should serve something, otherwise what sense does it have?
fine thanks

I contacted alphacool, but it was not clear ....

Their answer was:
"this card is not for monitoring the rpm of your pump.

Have a nice day. "

that looks like some kind of current converter for using pond pumps or industrial pumps.

yep, do you have ehiem pumps to connect to it by chance? i think you bought the wrong part :( were you looking for a pwm fan controller? if so thats definitely not what your looking for.

no I have this pump:
http://www.aquatuning.us/water-cool...-600-12-volt-without-ac/dc-transformer?c=6555
Eheim compact Pump 600 12 Volt (without AC/DC transformer)

the card is used to turn the 12 volt continuous to alternating 50hz to run the pump.
When you buy the pump you are advised to use this card.

everything works well.

I just wanted to get the chance to get the rpm of the pump or have a working signal to simulate and send everything to the mainboard to check out.

ah i gotcha. you can do just that. i didnt understand at first but like you said in your first post it will be able to monitor the pumps rpm thru the 3 pin. you just need to connect it to the motherboards 4 pin cpu spot with a 3pin cable to the card. unfortunately i dont think there are many ocers that have experience with it. if you go to the bottom of the page

theirs a review that may help you. its to an xtremesystems review of your card and a reservoir. i look forward to seeing if it works for you!

Thanks for the reply. I measured with pins a tester and power 12v and 5 volts between pins ... I would not do damage ... I sent another alphacool email for security. hopefully they respond

I wrote to alphacool:

Hello

I have matched this pump with your 12v dc to ac converter.
Alphacool converter card V.2 - 12V DC to 12V AC - (Double Power & Redundant)

my question is this:
I can use the connector that has the function:
Pump speed monitoring:
With the help of this 3-Pin connector and a cable for connection, the fan speed can be monitored by a controller.

as ? where can I use it?
can I put it on the mainboard?
connect it to the motherboard 4 pin cpu spot with a 3 pin cable to the card?

their answer is this to my questions:

Hi,

you have to connect the 3 Pin connector with your mainboard or an extern controller.

Have a nice day.

Hi again,

I am sorry but I did not understand your question at first that is why I am contacting you again.

You can connect the converter card trough the white four pin Molex connector to the power supply as well the pump to the green socket(You can use with this card two pumps which can be operated with the included jumpers parallel or redundant).

After all you need to connect the three pin white connection on the left to the mainboard to observe the pump speed.

Please check the link below for further information’s.

Have a great day.
