Is there any way to bypass the feature that some web sites use that don't allow you to use your "Back" button on your browser (it just refreshes the current page)? I hate it when I come to a web site and then try to hit my "Back" button, only to discover they won't let me leave that page. Any way to get back to my previous page (without using "History")?

That only happens when your on a po_n site! (that's what somebody told me)
Sometimes I am able to get back by doing a fast double click on the back button. :D
Then you should clear your cookies.

No, it doesn't only happen on porn sites. I was browsing an online pet supply store, which prompted me to post this. Yes, sometimes a fast double-click will work, but not always.

Most of the time it's because of a very fast meta refresh. You should be able to right click on the back button and back up 2 pages instead of just one. Usually works for me. That and clicking the back button a bunch of times are ways that I use to defeat a lazy webmaster.

The way I deal with it is quite simple. I write the webmaster or whoever and let them know that I will not visit their site again because they disabled my back button.
Then, I just never visit them again.

I was just gonna say the same thing!!!

Also, if you are real slick, you can tap the "Backspace" key a couple of times....that is teh KB equalivent of the back button.
Nah sometimes that doesn't work either
Anyone see those sites(not telling what kind and they are not porn!!!) that prompts you with thousands of windows? those are the worst ones in my opinion it should be a limit for the pages that pops up:mad:

Going along with the selecting the point to go back to from the down arrow, you can right click anywhere on the back button and then choose where to go back to. I do that because that arrow is small and takes to much time to aim well and get it. And it works for the forward button too :) If you're using netscape, I think you have to use the arrow (if there is one, I dunno cuz I hate netscape).

Maybe I have this wrong, but I think the point of the question was a way to not even have to click on the the little arrow.

Is there any way that anyone knows so that when you click Back, it actually goes back?

BTW, I hate those ******* site that do this. Think of all the computer illiterate people out there who don't know what to do.

yeah it's like going to war against a bunch of guerilla-javascripters....they can write code specifying where the back button will take you, or cause new windows to open. hate that stuff.
